Monte Christo Winery offers four club choices, shipped annually.

A Taste of Central Otago - 6 bottles

The perfect introduction to the Monte Christo Winery portfolio, this membership includes 6 bottles per year featuring Central Otago’s most popular wine styles and grape varieties. Each year you will receive the new releases of our Rosé, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir.

Our team will curate your shipment with one or two bottles of each wine variety from the Central Otago range. You may also customise your shipment by choosing any combination of these wines, keeping a total of 6 bottles (or 12 for international shipments). Please note that the total cost may vary depending on the wines chosen.

Produced from a blend of our best vineyard blocks across the Alexandra Basin, Bannockburn and Pisa subregions, our flagship wines display the quintessential character of the greater Central Otago region through the lens of its two top grape varieties. 

With this selection, you will receive annually 6 bottles of each of our newly released flagship Central Otago Chardonnay and Central Otago Pinot Noir.

Subregional Expressions - 12 bottles

With vineyards spread across Central Otago, this unique collection of Pinot Noir highlights the individual character, or terroir, of some of the area’s top subregions including the Alexandra Basin, Bannockburn and Pisa. 

This limited annual selection includes a mixed case of 12 of our most exclusive, single-origin Pinot Noirs.

The Full Monte!

Combining our flagship and subregional selections, along with a 2-night stay in one of our charming guest cottages, this is the quintessential Monte Christo experience.

Every year you will receive 6 bottles each of our flagship Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in addition to a mixed case of 12 of our limited-production subregional Pinot Noirs.

You and a guest are also invited to enjoy a complimentary 2-night stay at our guest cottages in Clyde (anytime of the year, subject to availability).

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the wine club work?
  • As a member of the Monte Christo Wine Club, you will receive an annual delivery of our new vintage wines each year, along with additional member benefits. Club memberships will continue from year to year until you notify us to discontinue your membership.
  • Wine Club deliveries are charged and shipped once per year, typically in October or November. We will contact you before your shipment to ensure your account details are up to date, and to confirm when your club order will be processed.
  • Annual club shipments are sent upon the early release of our new vintages, in October or November.
  • Once you have joined the club,  we will process and ship your first club order soon after your registration comes through. Your member benefits begin immediately.
  • Subsequent shipments will be processed and shipped as per the new releases, usually in October or November.
  • Yes! We can send wine to club members in the following destinations: USA, Australia, United Kingdom, Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong.
  • All transactions are completed in NZD, and international shipping rates will apply to annual deliveries.

  • Members receive a 10% discount on annual wine deliveries, as well as any other bottles you purchase throughout the year online, over the phone, or in our Cellar Door. Please note discounts do not apply to beverages or food to be consumed onsite.

  • We will send out email notifications with the full shipment details a few weeks prior to charging your card or shipping any wines.
  • Members of A Taste of Central Otago have the ability to customise their shipments. Due to limited production of our wines, we’re unable to offer customisation for the remaining club selections. 
  • For a Taste of Central Otago customisation: A few weeks ahead of your annual delivery, our team will curate a standard club shipment of our new releases, and we’ll notify you when your wine package is built in your account.  You can log-in to your account and adjust the bottle quantities, keeping a minimum of 6 bottles of the wines included in the standard shipment. The price will update to reflect the change in bottle quantities, with your member discount applied.
  • A reminder: you’re able to purchase any of our wines outside of your normal club shipments with your member discount applied, based on availability.
  • You can easily update your shipping details or credit card information through your online account, or simply email our team.
  • Yes, absolutely. Just get in contact with our team at wineclub@montechristowinery.co.nz, and we are happy to help.
  • Certainly! If you need to take a break from your membership due to travel or other commitments, just let us know by emailing us with the dates you’d like to put it on hold. We’ll ensure your account is updated, and your membership will automatically resume after the specified timeframe.
  • In the event you need to reschedule or delay shipment, just let our team know and we’ll work out a plan to suit your schedule.
  • If you skip an annual shipment and then cancel your membership, your card may be charged for any recent discounts received as a member.
  • You can cancel your membership at any time after your first shipment, however, it must be more than 2 weeks in advance of the upcoming wine club release.
  • You can cancel online in your account, or send us an email to confirm cancellation in writing. 
  • In the event of cancellation prior to your first delivery, your card may be charged for any discounts received as a member.
  • Upon cancellation, your unused member benefits will expire.

  • Please reach out to our team directly and we’ll be happy to take care of your booking at our cottages. 
  • 2-night stays are based on availability, with no annual blackout dates.
  • Complimentary member 2-night stays are based on 2 adults, in the Studio or a 1-bedroom cottage.
  • At sign up, you will submit a credit card to be put on file. This card will be automatically charged prior to your shipment date. We will notify you a few weeks in advance of any wine club charges to your card.
  • We use Stripe as our payment processor, which is certified as a PCI Service Provider Level 1, the highest level of certification in the payment industry. This certification is obtained through an audit by a PCI-certified auditor. Stripe employs top-tier security practices and tools, including AES-256 encryption, to ensure your credit card information remains secure.

Terms and Conditions

 

  • You must be of legal drinking age in your country of residence.
  • You understand your first delivery will be processed and shipped to you within approximately 2 weeks of signing up. Subsequent club shipments will be processed as per the new release of our wines, usually in October or November.
  • Your membership can be cancelled at any point after your first delivery, at least 2 weeks before subsequent shipments.
  • We are unable to ship to PO Boxes.
  • You are responsible for updating Monte Christo Winery with changes of address or updated credit card information. 
  • You give consent for your credit card details to be securely retained and understand that Club orders will be processed approximately one week before scheduled shipping. (we will notify you prior to any automatic charges)
  • Your member benefits are not transferable, and benefits do not accrue annually.
  • You consent to your details being added to our customer database and to receiving future correspondence us regarding your Club Membership, and other news from the winery .
